Hello. Yes finally I am writing a REAL blog. I just got home from my big biology exam so now I feel free as a bird…well that is until the countdown for my final..ugggh! Well, anyways…here it is! So I have been real busy lately with training. It is about the 2 month mark until the LA World Cup. I love racing in front of a home crowd and I hope to make it as exciting as last year. Although it was amazing winning worlds this year I definitely have to say that racing in the World Cup last January ranked a really close second. There is just nothing like having all your friends and family cheering you on. So, needless to say I am pumped for January and I hope that everyone who is in the Southern California area can make it up to the Home Depot Center on the weekend of January 19-21.
We just had our 2nd “Ladies Day at the Track” this weekend. We had 60 women!! Can you believe that! It seemed like everyone had a great time and I hope that we get even more next time. I think that it is the perfect way to introduce women to the track. No pressure, easy environment where nobody is judging you. All the women here are learning and those who know a little bit more than the others are all lending a helping hand. We have our next session on December 9th. This Saturday I get to go to the Canine Companions for Independence (CCI) graduation ceremony. If you don’t know what CCI is it is a non-profit organization that enhances adults and children’s lives by providing highly trained assistance dogs to them for no cost. I was just introduced to this organization a little while ago and I have to tell you…I have found my calling after my cycling. I will be a puppy raiser!!! Anyone who knows me, knows that I am absolutely dog crazy and now being in touch with some of the other puppy raisers (all volunteers I might add!) I realize that I am not the only nutty dog lover out there!! So I am very excited to be going this weekend…I’m sure there will be many tears shed!
